Film – Ride Along

Ride Along was directed by Tim Story and was released in 2014. It was an action, comedy and crime genre film. The main cast consisted of Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter and many more.  The scenes were filmed in Miami, Florida and Alanta, Georgia. The film is about a security guard Ben (Kevin Hart) who is trying to prove to his fiancés brother James (Ice Cube) that he is fit to be her future husband. James is a veteran cop and once Ben has been accepted into the police academy James decides to take along Ben with him to his missions with the sole purpose of scaring Ben. However, events take a sudden turn when their night turns into something a lot more serious and dangerous. The film had scenes where they would show what Ben (Kevin Hart) was thinking and have the scene played out and then go back to the scene where they were before they showed what Ben was thinking. There were many villains and two of them were working at the police department. Ben and James were the heroes since they found and caught the bad guys. There was a mix of themes in this film. Even some of the action scenes were made to be humorous. In the ending there was a good show of friendship between Ben and James.  There were many different camera shots in this film. Since it is big Hollywood movie they had the money and the equipment to shoot from various angles.

Serial - The Vampire Diaries

Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson created The Vampire Diaries (TVD), and Marcos Siega directed it.  It was released in 2009 and finished in 2017.  The main cast were Paul Wesley, Ian Somehalder, Nina Dobrev, Kat Graham, Candice King and many more being introduced in different seasons and episodes.  The genres of this serial are drama, fantasy and horror.  The serial is based on a young teenage girl who is torn between two vampire brothers and all their supernatural history and problems. After she found out their secret her life was never the same. The show comes with a lot of secrets and mystery that will keep unravelling one at a time during each season. There are many flashbacks being shown for the viewers to really understand all the past hidden secrets. There are no specific heroes or villains in this show because TVD make the good people turn bad and the bad turn good in order to keep the show interesting and have a good storyline. TVD main theme is probably love. All the hard and life threatening choices made by the characters are all based on love. Love is one of the strongest emotions shown on that show. Love is one of the main reasons of how the story even started. It also shows true meaning of friendship and family bonds. TVD were very good with their filiming and editing because their show was based on supernatural events and they made it seem so real.

Series – NCIS

Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill were the creators of NCIS. It was released in 2003 and is still going on. The main cast are Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo and many more. The genres of the series are action, comedy and crime.  The basic plot of the story is working on the cases of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service’s Washington DC Major Case Response team, led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. The heroes in this series are the main cast who work in the department trying to find the criminals. The music they have in this show is very similar and repetitive. The themes in this show are good relationship between workers and how they work together to get justice.
